Superstar Mammootty and director Ranjith once again team up,it will result bring back yet another superhit movie called “Paleri Manikyam“. They have worked together as a team for four films like Black, Kaiyoppu, Prajapathi and Nasrani.This will also be the first time that Ranjith is going to make a film that is not scripted by himself.

The movie is based on a novel as explained earlier. In the movie Mammootty is introduced as an officer who tries to solve a murder case that is almost 53 years old.The film is also very special as several new faces will be introduced in the movie and that too stage performers as the movie needs a particular slang which can only be done by stage performers.A girl named Manikyam was brutally raped and also murdered on the 11th day of her marriage. But no one was able to find out the guilty person and so the case was closed. The incident took place in a place called “Paleri”, near Calicut. The director has decided to show a part of the life style of the early 1950’s. This was why he had to search out for professional stage performers as they were the only persons who could do those roles.
