MAMMOOTTY LAUNCHING A REALITY SHOW FOR BUDDING TALENTS

Malayalam superstar Mammootty, who promised to launch fresh faces through his recently launched production company Play House, has started a talent hunt show in search of new faces.





This reality show is titled "Mammootty,the best actor award 2009".its in the asianet channel and launched successfully on the last saturday.There will be 13 episodes that would be telecast every Saturday. The grand finale will take place in October in Dubai where the mega star Mammootty will announce the winners.

The judges are the yesteryears actress sheela,one and only jagathy srikumar along with many time award winning actress urvashi,extremely talented sreenivasan,nedumudi venu and popular malayalam film director siddique.

Sixteen contestants have been selected and each of them will have to perform on the reality show. Mega star MAMMOOTTY said "This is just to give talented youngsters an opportunity to come out" .Among the 16 selected, 10 are men and most of the participants are in their early 20s. They were shortlisted from among more than 1,000 aspirants.

These are the comments from the superstar on the launching day.
"My job in the reality show is limited. Since it was the first episode that was aired last night (Saturday), I decided to be present. I have committed that the films produced by my production house will feature many contestants" .He also replied to the questio "why he have nt started the show in KAIRALI TV,where he is the chairman?".The famous superstar replied "The proposal came from Asianet and I felt it was a good idea and agreed."

Mammootty is known for his powerful performances in movies like "Aalkootathil Thaniye", "Adiyozhukkukal", "Oru CBI Diary Kurippu", "Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha" and "Mathilukal" and many more.

Mammootty in and as ‘Pramaani’

Mammootty will star in B.Unnikrishnan's next,'Pramaani'. Mammootty will be essaying the role of Raghava Panikkar, a corrupt panchayath president.



Megastar MAMMOOTTY 's new project is "Pramani" with B.Unnikrishnan,the director of the superhit movie 'Madambi',staring Mohanlal.Although the names of the 2 films seems to be similar,its a different topic from the prevoius one.Just as in Unnikrishnan's previous superhit, 'Madambi', starring Mohanlal in the lead, the protagonist of the film will have shades of grey.

The shooting for the film is planned to begin by this year-end and is expected to reach theatres by March next.other stars casting in the film are the extremely talented comedian Jagathi sreekumar, Nedumudi Venu, Suraaj Venjaramoodu and Salim Kumar.

Unnikrishnan, a writer-turned-director, made it to the big league of directors with 'Madambi'. Moderate hits - 'Smart City' and 'IG' are also his films with hero Suresh gopi.This director has a variety style and this approach to films has become accepted by the fans in kerala.

Palery resumes at Mancheri

Megastar Mammootty was more than happy to be at Manchery, where he had been for long doing his duties as a lawyer. The actor, who established himself as a popular advocate at Malappuram before starting his acting career, was again at his familiar den for the shooting of the new movie ‘Palery Manikyam’ ‘Oru Pathira Kolapathakathinte Kathaa’. The production crew, including the producer-director Renjith, were also happy for the rains which stood away from disturbing their proceedings, from the day the megastar joined the sets. Hundreds of people from various walks of life assembled to see their favourite star and man of the soil, who is back to Mancheri after some years.

The megastar is in a double role in this movie which is an investigation thriller. One of his roles is of Haridas, a Delhi-based private detective who mets with a renewed interest about a murder that happened 50 years ago. He decides to reinvestigate it; with the help of Sarayu Sharma (played by Gowri) a criminologist who assists him.

The movie produced by Varnachithra big Screen and AVA Productions, will reach the theatres by the mid of November.

‘Pramaani’ with Mammootty

Scriptwriter turned director B Unnikrishann had been lucky enough to convert all his movies to safe earners. While his Suresh Gopi flicks like ‘Smart City’ and the recent ‘IG’ managed with average collections, his Mohanlal movie ‘Madambi’ was one of the biggest hits of last year.

Anyhow, B Unnikrishann is now getting ready to start the works on his first movie with Mammootty. This project, which will be the fourth movie from the director is titled as ‘Pramaani’.

Mammootty will appear as a corrupt Panchayath president Raghavapanikkar in this movie. Planned to start its shoot by the end of this year, the movie will also feature Suraaj Venjaaramodu, Jagathy, Nedumudi and Salimkumar.

Expected to get completed in a single schedule, this movie will get into theatres by March, 2010.

Sibi and Mammootty again

After almost a decade from their last movie 'Saagaram Saakshy',Director Sibi Malayil will team up with Superstar Mammootty by next year. This yet to be titled movie will be in the scripts of K Gireshkumar, who shot to limelight with the movie 'Veruthe Oru Bharya’. K Gireeshkumar had been with Sibi Malayil for many films like ‘Alice In Wonderland’, and ‘Amritham’ which were all duds at the box Office.

This yet to be titled project is expected to kick off by the opening months of 2010 and will be the Onam release from the star.

Mammootty in ‘Chattambinaadu’

After the super hits like ‘Mayavi’ and ‘Thommanum Makkalum’, Mammootty and director Shafi are teaming up once again to create another super hit. Titled ‘Chattambinaadu’, this will be a comedy based action movie made in the scripts of Benny P Nayarambalam.

Mammootty will be presented as Veerendra Mallaya, a Karnataka based estate owner. He will speak a Kannada based new accent in this movie, which will be one of the highlights of the movie.

‘Chattambinaadu’ will feature three heroines for Mammootty. Mukesh will also play an important character in the movie. Produced by Mammootty's own distribution house “Playhouse”, the movie will start its shoot by the end of September.

Daddy Cool comes early!

Here is happy news for all Mammootty fans who are eagerly waiting for the release of their superstar's forthcoming family thriller Daddy Cool, scripted and directed by debutant Ashique Abu! Contrary to earlier reports that the film would hit screens on August 15, it is now confirmed that Daddy Cool will come 15 days earlier, i.e., on July 30.

Daddy Cool is a cool, humorous and thrilling story of a laidback police officer Antony Simon (Mammootty) who is very fond of his six-year-old son and likes to play cricket. Richa Pallod is the heroine. She appears as Annie, Mammootty's wife.

Also in the cast are Vijayraghavan, Baburaj, and Biju Menon. Indrajith and Kalabhavan Mani play key roles in this film produced by Alvin Antony and Khader Mayyazhi under the banner of Wall Green Productions.

Songs, penned by Anil Panachooran, have been set to tune by Bijibal. Sameer Thahir handles the camera. The film is distributed by Marakkar films.

mammootty is going to bring the house down in a remix song from the late action hero Jayan's 1980 film Love in Singapore, for his Pattanathil Bhootham.

The song has Mammootty dressed up to resemble Jayan of the late 1970s in a garish yellow bell bottoms and red giant size collar shirt tucked in with a huge belt with a mega size buckle. Those who saw a clipping of this comedy remix song say it is hilarious.

Mammootty dances with Suraj Venjaranmoodu dressed as a girl, to the hit song from the Jayan film Chaam Chakka Chom Chakka…, which was sung by Jayachandran and P.Susheela and tuned by Shankar Ganesh. The remix of the popular number has been done by Shaan Rahman in Pattanathil Bhootham

Mammootty's new movie ‘Ee Pattanathil Bhootham’ will be released by tomorrow (9th of July). The film directed by Johny Antony, was earlier planned to hit the theaters by the end of June.

Due to heavy graphics and animation works, the producers have to reschedule the release dates for quite some time. Kavya Madhavan in one of her last outing to film before her marriage had completed the heroine act of the movie. In fact, Kavya is for the first time acting opposite the megastar as the heroine.

Mammootty will be appearing in a double role in this hilarious thriller.

Ee Pattanathil Bhootham is a straightforward adaptation of Aladdin and His Magic Lamp with a ramantic comedy twist, written by Javar Sitaraman.

Mammootty has danced for a remix number from veteran actor Jayan’s Love in Singapore of the 80's in his soon-to-be-released Pattanathil Bhootham. The song 'Chaam Chakka Chom Chakka' has Mammootty dressed in bell bottoms and a wide-collared shirt grooving with Suraj Venjaramoodu in a lady's disguise for this song. Industry sources say that the song and Mammootty’s performance in it are outstanding and are sure to top industry talks. Pattanathil Bhootham is expected to release on July 9.

Mammootty's website gets more interactive

Malayalam superstar Mammootty's website is set to get a new look, have more interactive features and would include a blood bank service too.

The veteran actor said it could now be called a portal and not just a website as www.mammootty.com is more exhaustive than before.

'The highlight of the re-launched site is that it would be more interactive. Besides, it would offer a slew of community services that include a blood bank where anyone wanting blood can log on to the site. Through this one can find out the person in his or her locality who would be willing to provide blood. This blood bank will be operated with the help of my fans' association,' Mammootty told IANS.

The National Award winning actor will officially re-launch the website here Sunday evening.

The new portal will have an elaborate interactive forum for his fans apart from details about the star and his upcoming projects. But won't this give people a platform to write negative views as well?

'See, freedom of expression need not be curbed... and let anyone write what they want. I am sure only when the freedom of expression is there, I can do introspection. So let people write and express themselves,' Mammootty said.

The re-launch of the website comes just ahead of his new film's release. 'Pattanathil Bhootham', a much-awaited entertainer, releases later this week.

'I am certainly happy with the film but then it is the audience who have to do the rest. My hands are full with two more (movies) in the final stages of production and 'Pazhazzi Raja', a mega film, is also slated for release during Ramadan,' said Mammootty, who has worked in over 300 films.

The actor recently turned producer and distributor too with the launch of his production company called Play House last month.

Another shift for ‘Bhootham’

The play with the fantasy ‘Bhootham’ is costing much time for its makers. As the final works on the graphics is still on, the creators of the new movie ‘Pattanathil Bhootham’ is still finding it difficult, to get the movie released on time.

As per the latest reports this magical entertainer will get into theatres only by the 9th of this month, instead of the last announced date of second of July.

The movie, a conceptual brainchild of super star Mammootty, will feature him in double roles in the scripts of Sibi K Thomas -Udhay Krissna duo. Directed by Johny Antony, the movie is planning a wide release by the end of next week.

Palery Manikyam begins

Scenarist-turned-director Ranjith's upcoming period crime thriller Palery Manikyam, starring superstar Mammootty in a double role, will start rolling in Moogambika temple on July 3.

Produced by A.V. Anoop and Subair under the banner of AVA Productions and Varnachithra Big Screen, Palery Manikyam is based on T.P. Rajeevan's famous novel 'Palery Maanikyam - Oru Paathira Kolapathakathinte Katha', serialized in Mathrubhumi (weekly) in the early 60's. The story is based on the sensational Manikkam murder case that rocked Kerala in the 50's.

What makes the film interesting is that Mammootty will play a dual role: as the CBI officer who re-investigates the case in 2009 and a feudal Muslim landlord who lived in the 50's and was involved in the crime. There is no relationship between these two characters.

Others in the cast are Sreenivasan, Vijayaraghavan and Siddique. Debutant Prakash Kutty will be the cameraman, while music is by Biji Bal. Ranjith recently held a film workshop in Kozhikode to choose theatre actors for Palery Manikyam. The aim of the workshop was to finetune the actors who are not familiar with acting for films.
