Kutty Shranku to premiere in Montreal

Superstar Mammootty's prestigious Kutty Shranku, being directed by internationally reputed Shaji N. Karun and produced by Reliance Entertainment under the banner of Big Motion Pictures, will be premiered at the Great Film Section of the Montreal International Film Festival 2009, to be held from August 27 to September 7.

Kutty Shranku is the first Malayalam production by Anil Ambani's newly-launched entertainment company. Set in the late 50's, the film revolves around a boat driver (Mammootty), who runs a cargo service between the sea port of Kodungalloor near Kochi.

He is married to three different woman (Kamalini Mukerjee, Meena Kumari and Padmapriya) in the three islands he visits; however each of them is unaware about the others. They meet each other for the first time after the death of the protagonist.
