Blessy to script for Mammootty

Ace director Blessy whose recent movie ‘Bhramaram’ has received much accolades from the critics and masses alike, will now script for a new movie with Mammootty as the hero. To be directed by Thomas Sebastian, who debuted with ‘Mayabazaar’, this will be the first time Blessy will be scripting for another director's movie. Though Mayabazaar was much below expectations in content and its making, it is indeed luck that seems to have helped Thomas Sebastian to fetch the dates of Mammootty, once again, that too in a script from Blessy.

Meanwhile Blessy's ‘Bhramaram’ has completed its fifty days run in few selected centres in the state. The city crowds still show a good affinity to the film with 60-80 percent collections in weekends while the small towns has already shifted the movie for newer releases.

‘Chattambinadu’ to start this September

Mammootty's new flick ‘Chattambinadu’ will start its shoot by the ninth of September. Scripted by Benny P Nayarambalam, the movie will be directed by ace hit maker Shafi.

Lakshmi Rai will be the heroine of this movie, which will be shot in and around Pollachi. This is the third time Lakshmi Rai is teaming up with Mammootty, the earlier being ‘Annan Thambi’ and in ‘Parunthu’.

Meanwhile Mammootty is presently busy completing bits and pieces of his other four films including ‘Pazhassi Raja’ and ‘Loudspeaker’, which is under production.

malayalam movie Daddy Cool Review

Last day the new malayalam movie Daddy Cool released in around 80 theatres all across kerala. The film Daddy Cool features Superstar Mammooty, Biju Meon, master Dhananjay and Bollywood actress Richa Palood in the main cast. Here is a short review on the movie Daddy Cool.

At first i want to say the movie is a watchable and enters an average category due to the lack in strong script. The new Mammootty starrer film Daddy Cool is directed by debutant director Aashiq Abu. Daddy Cool is a hillarious family entertainer, which was produced by Ananya films and distributed by Marikkar films.

I watched the movie on the first day and wanna say that this will be the best movie of Mammooty after AnnanThambi. The new film Daddy Cool is carrying an impressive initial reviews, which will surely help the movie to get into the safer side as early as possible. The best things in the movie are the stylish acting of Mammoty and the super performance of Master Dhananjay. Two songs are also gud.

But while coming to the script part, i have to say that there is no strong story in the movie and most of the characters in the movie like Vijaya Raghavan, Suraj, Sai Kumar and even Richa Pallood has not given any importance. The main focus is on Mammooty and Master Dhananjay(Aadhi). In the acting side, Mammootty as usual has made a descent effort to make his character a notable one. The other notable actors in the film were master Dhananjay, Biju Menon and Daniel Balaji. All others have done their respective jobs very nicely except the heroine

Richa Pallod.

The comedy scenes that features Mammooty and his son is superb and even the criticizer will love to see that. The debutant director Aashiq Abu has done good work though his script is weak. Sameer Thahir, the young cinematographer has done his work, has done a great job in the movi and the some scenes in the movie are stylish just like the Amal Neerad movies. Another negative of the movie is the title music which is about 10 minutes long.

This film may appeal to you, if you are a follower of cliched family entertainers and according to me this new movie is a watchable one, that too with your kids. According to me the movie is a watchable one and will become a hit.

‘Daddy Cool’ in eighty centres

With impressive initial reviews, megastar Mammootty's latest movie ‘Daddy Cool’ opened today at eighty centres of the state. Directed by Aashiq Abu, the movie is released in many centres in Chennai and coimbatore.

The movie featuring Master Dhanajay, Biju Menon and Richa Pallod in important roles is opined as a good entertainer, with a stylish former half. Another movie that got to theatres today is a dubbed movie ‘Ayyo Pavum’, presented by Khadar Hassan. Directed by Karunakaran, this youth film opened in 28 centers in Kerala.

‘Daddy Cool’ starts tomorrow

Megastar Mammootty's new release ‘Daddy Cool’ will grace the theatres tomorrow. The movie distributed by Marikkar release will get into eighty centres, including the multiple release theatres.

The humorous family story about a deep bonding of a father and his son, will have Mammootty and Master Dhananjay playing the lead roles. Richa Pallod is the heroine of this movie which will launch ad maker and a former assistant to Kamal, Aaasiq Abu in the director's seat.

The movie which is expected to be censored with a clean a certificate will have music by Bijibal while ‘Big B’ fame Sameer Thaahir works as the Cinematographer of the movie.

‘Daddy Cool’ for this weekend

A Marikkar film has confirmed that they will release their new Mammootty starrer ‘Daddy Cool’ by this weekend. Written and directed by Aashiq Abu, the music and posters of this light hearted family movie about a father-son bonding, is already a big hit with the masses.

Mammootty plays Antony Simon, a laid back officer with the crime branch which is more fond of watching cricket with his son than for attending his daily duties. Richa Palod is the heroine of this movie which also feature Govind Padmasuriya as a cricketer.

The movie will get a safe two weeks before Noyambu, which will start by the 21st of March, if it will go to theatres this week.

Play House releases Ritu

Super star Mammootty's newly launched production house Play House will distribute National award-winning director Shyamaprasad's Ritu, scheduled to grace screens on August 7. The makers have planning to release the movie in 30 stations.

Ritu is a tale of friendship that blooms in the changing social and emotional landscape of a small South Indian town. The cast consists of all new faces. Ritu is Shyamaprasad's sixth movie. His earlier films are Kallu Kondoru Pennu (1998), Agnisakshi (1999), Bokshu the Myth (2002), Akale (2004) and Ore Kadal (2007).

Mamooty faces Film Chamber’s ban

The Kerala film chamber and the Malayalam actors’ Guild have formulated an agreement that the Malayalam film star cannot take part in any programs hosted by private television channels expect to promote their films.

Now the latest controversy is, in the form of a television program “Mamooty the best actor award’ a program in which the superstar has agreed to take part. The Kerala film chamber president has requested the Malayalam actors’ Guild to stop the actor from taking part in the show. In case the actor does not budge then the association will ban the actor, said the Film Chamber representative.

Kutty Shranku to premiere in Montreal

Superstar Mammootty's prestigious Kutty Shranku, being directed by internationally reputed Shaji N. Karun and produced by Reliance Entertainment under the banner of Big Motion Pictures, will be premiered at the Great Film Section of the Montreal International Film Festival 2009, to be held from August 27 to September 7.

Kutty Shranku is the first Malayalam production by Anil Ambani's newly-launched entertainment company. Set in the late 50's, the film revolves around a boat driver (Mammootty), who runs a cargo service between the sea port of Kodungalloor near Kochi.

He is married to three different woman (Kamalini Mukerjee, Meena Kumari and Padmapriya) in the three islands he visits; however each of them is unaware about the others. They meet each other for the first time after the death of the protagonist.

''Playhouse'' to release movies

Mammootty's distribution firm ''Playhouse'' will start distributing movies from this month. Their first release will be ‘Rithu’ by eminent director Shyamaprasad. The movie featuring youngsters will be presented to theatres as the first movie from playhouse, from next week. The makers have planning to release the movie on 30 stations on the eighth of this month.

And for Onam festival Playhouse will come up with ‘Kanakanmani’ the new movie from Jayaram. Directed by Akku Akbar after the super hit movie ‘Veruthe Oru Bharya’, the movie is rumoured to be a remake of Akku's Hindi movie Goury. Scripted by Gireeshkumar the movie featuring Padmapriya will get into theaters by the third of next month.

Mammootty and Dileep together

After a gap of half a decade, Mega star Mammootty and Janapriya Nayakan Dileep are coming together, once again for a movie. The new project by Anwar Rasheed is expected to feature both the actors as brothers. Dileep will play the younger brother to Mammootty, in this movie whose scripts are nearing completion.

The last time when Mammootty and Dileep came together was for the hit Rakshas Rajavu, which was an Onam hit of 2001. This will be third film from Anwar Rasheed featuring Mammootty, the earlier two, Raajamanikyam and Annan Thampi becoming bumper hits.
