Mammootty Pokkiri Raja postponed!

The deadly combo Mammootty- Prithviraj’s eagerly awaited Vysakh directed Pokkiri Raja, which was to release on April 30 has been postponed to May 6.

It has upset the fans of Mammootty and Prithviraj who were waiting to watch their heroes scorch the screen.

The film which is being censored today would have been actually ready for release this Friday. But the stand off between distributors and theatres in Kerala has resulted in the postponement.

All the theatres in Kerala and outside were also looking forward to the biggie which carries good pre-release reports. Let us hope the stalemate in the trade would end soon, as this is peak summer season, the best time to release a film.

Mammootty to launch his son!

Mammootty is all set to launch his son Dulkar Salman as hero in a Malayalam film directed by Tamil hit maker Lingusamy!

The film will be a musical entertainer, with Mammootty himself doing a cameo in the film.

Says Lingusamy: “ Mammootty is like my big brother. We go back a long way. My first film as director Anandam in Tamil had Mammooka in a pivotal role and the film was a super hit. So when he asked me to launch his son Dulkar Salman in Malayalam, I readily agreed.”

The other details of this proposed film and when it will be launched will be known only after Mammootty comes back from his US holiday, sometime in May.

Mammootty as Kunjali Maraikar

Malayalam cinema seems to be getting interesting lately. Some of these big-budget films include the Mammootty starrer Karnan, which would bring him back with Gokulam Gopalan and Hariharan too.


Buzz has it that another big project is being planned. Kunjali Maraikar’s story will be depicted on screen by director Jayaraj. The film is expected to star Mammootty in the lead role. Sources have it that the film will be scripted by T P Rajeevan, who also scripted Ranjith’s film, Paleri Maanickyam. However, an official announcement about this project is yet to be made

Mammootty pens dialogues for his Shikari!

Shikari is the bilingual movie in Kannada and Malayalam starring Mammootty in the lead role. He thus makes his debut in Kannada industry also. Director Abhay Simha, who is an ardent fan of the actor is very much excited and is looking forward to his project. The latest update regarding the movie is that Mammootty has come forward to pen dialogues for the movie.


According to the producer, Mammootty was so much impressed with the strong script that provoked him to pen the dialogues himself. Also it is herd that Konkana is to play the female lead in this bilingual flick. Malayali actors including Salimkumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Nedumudi Venu will also be a part of the Malayalam version which will be presented to Kerala audience in a different name.

'Pokkiri Raja' is an upcoming Malayalam Movie featuring Mammootty, Prithviraj and Tamil actress Shriya Saran in leading role. This is for the first time Shriya Saran is acting in Malayalam.

In 'Pokkiri Raja' Mammootty will be playing a role similar to one played in 'Rajamanikyam'. Directed by Vaishak Pokkiri Raja will simultaneosly being produced in Tamil as 'Aruvadai'. In Tamil Arjun and Sneha are playing the major roles.

Story of Pokkiri Raja is about two sons of an idealistic schoool teacher. One of the brothers runs away from home and become Goonda Don, while the other stays at home and turns in to a local rowdy. After some years, two of them met in a big city and that will the turning point of the movie.
